PLA Open Day. Discover More. NMDG Maritime Industries Look to the Future

SKILLS & THE FUNDING REALITY, BUSINESS BREAKFAST, THURSDAY 26TH JUNE 2014, DARTFORD, KENT: Working together for all UK maritime skills development, this meeting of the Thames and Channel, National Maritime Development Group (NMDG) has been designed to brief executives on how best to work with the education sector and government organisations to develop the right training solutions and maximise public funding support. We will hear from Iain Mackinnon, Maritime Skills Alliance, about how the Alliance sets and promotes skills standards for the UK’s maritime sector and Ann Komzolik, Executive Director, National Maritime Training Centre and NMDG National Maritime Skills Gap Group lead, who will give an ‘honest’ overview of the reality of skills funding today.This venue will be provide a full English breakfast. CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MARITIME INDUSTRIES EDUCATION & TRAINING, TASK & DELIVEY GROUP MEETING, TUESDAY 8TH JULY 2014, GRAVESEND, KENT: The Thames & Channel NMDG National Maritime Skills Gap Group (NMSGG) inaugural meeting will be held at the National Maritime Training Centre, Gravesend (09:00 – 12:00). This task and delivery group will help encourage joined up thinking across the wider maritime industries, share information about labour and skills requirements and seek to form consortiums to design appropriate training interventionsfor the primary maritime industries sectors within the region. This meeting is open to all maritime industries and those in the training and education sector keen to develop the right training solutions. This group will be led by Ann Komzolik, Executive Director, National Maritime Training Centre and will feed directly into the National Maritime Development Group (NMDG) partnership and its Chair Group.To confirm your attendance please email : peter.green@imwa.co.uk.

With over 1000 visitors and 28 exhibitors, the Port of London Authority Open Day 2013 in association with the National Maritime Development Group (NMDG) was a success for visitors and exhibitors alike. This year’s Open Day brings together and showcases in one place commercial operators and the rivers facilities, and demonstrates the capabilities of the PLA.
PORT OF LONDON AUTHORITY OPEN DAY – THE RIVER THAMES CAREERS & TRADE FAIR , WEDNESDAY 16TH JULY 2014, GRAVESEND, KENT: The regions maritime industries are poised for growth, executives are again investing in new products, new capacity, new distribution channels and new markets. For business and stakeholders who have an interest in the tidal Thames, the PLA Open Day is the perfect event to create opportunities and network. CREATING A CLEANER, HEALTHIER RIVER THAMES, BUSINESS BREAKFAST, WEDNESDAY 16TH JULY 2014, GRAVESEND, KENT: The NMDG is hosting a business breakfast networking reception at the Clarendon Royal Hotel, Gravesend, Kent to celebrate the opening of the PLA Open Day – River Thames Careers & Trade Fair. This business breakfast will include our guest speaker, Roger Bailey, Head of Asset Delivery, Thames Tideway Tunnel who will provide an update on the proposed Thames Tideway Tunnel project and discuss how it will improve the environment, ecology, public health, appearance, reputation and long-term economy of London, but also how it will give a much-needed and immediate boost to the economy by offering many thousands of skilled jobs and hundreds of apprenticeships. HELPING YOU START YOUR THAMES JOURNEY IN SAFETY, BUSINESS LUNCH, WEDNESDAY 16TH JULY 2014, GRAVESEND, KENT: The NMDG is hosting a business networking lunch at the Clarendon Royal Hotel, Gravesend, Kent as part of the PLA Open Day – River Thames Careers & Trade Fair. The business networking lunch will include our guest speaker, Robin Mortimer, Chief Executive, Port of London Authority who will discuss how the Port of London (PLA) helps people to realise the potential of their projects and ensures that they can be delivered in safety as the river continues to generate, substantial and ongoing investment.
