FINAL REMINDER : NMDG BUSINESS BREAKFAST – HELPING THE MARINE INDUSTRIES DELIVER AGAINST MARKET OPPORTUNITIES, THURSDAY 27TH  FEBRUARY 2014: The National Maritime Development Group (NMDG) is hosting its next business breakfast meeting on Thursday 27 February 2014, University of Greenwich, The Old Royal Naval College, Maritime Greenwich. The business breakfast will include presentations from Peter Joyce, Assistant Head of Aerospace, Marine and Defence Unit at Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the lead policy official for the implementation of the Marine Industrial Growth Strategy, and Andy Linegar, Executive Delivery Manager, Marine Industries Leadership Council and Programme Manager, Defence Future Programme, Babcock International Group plc, who will be speaking about the UK’s first ever integrated strategy for the growth of the marine industries and how it establishes a foundation for sustainable long-term cooperation. The University of Greenwich will also be giving an overview of programs to support Maritime Industries and businesses in the South East region. The Thames and Channel NMDG, the largest maritime ‘cluster’ in the UK, brings together a wide range of companies involved in ‘maritime industries’ who focus on supply chain development and the future sustainable growth of coastal communities, promoting and developing excellence in all maritime activities related to skills, education and business. FREE NETWORKING LUNCH – OCEANOLOGY INTERNATIONAL, EXCEL, LONDON, 11TH MARCH 2014: The NMDG and partners CHAIN2 are hosting a FREE networking lunch at the world’s largest exhibition for marine science and technology, Oceanology International. The NMDG has arranged for UK partners to network with our two French maritime cluster partners, the Pôle mer Bretagne and Pôle mer Mediterranée (The French Sea World competitiveness cluster). Join us on the Pôle mer Bretagne exhibition stand at 12.30 on the 11th, to meet a number of companies attending from Brittany and the Mediterranean, including the local authority of Brest, who are all seeking to explore international development opportunities and support UK businesses interested in doing business in France. MARINE CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING NMDG BUSINESS BREAKFAST, THURSDAY 27TH MARCH 2014: The National Maritime Development Group (NMDG) is hosting its March business breakfast meeting on Thursday 27th March 2014, School of Engineering, University of Greenwich, Chatham Maritime. The business breakfast will include a presentation from Nicola Clay, Director, Coastal and Marine Environment, Royal HaskoningDHV and Chair of the Central Dredging Association (CEDA) UK and the UK Water Framework Directive Navigation Sector Group. The morning will also include a tour of the construction and engineering laboratories of the University of Greenwich.
