HOW TO SAVE MORE THAN 100,000 VEHICLE MOVEMENTS A YEAR -MAKING THE MOST OF LONDON’S GREEN HIGHWAY :BUSINESS BREAKFAST, THURS 26^th NOV 2015, RIVERSIDE RESOURCE  RECOVERY CENTRE, BELVEDERE,  LB OF BEXLEY, DA17 6J.
Continuing our work to help identify new connections, new routes to investment and the new ideas and strategy to help businesses within the region achieve their full potential, this month’s National Maritime (NMDG) business breakfast will focus on riverside energy and explore why using London’s green highway is good for business and the environment.
This meeting will specifically  address issues concerning sustainable energy projects, processes and management within the region. Important discussions will also include supply chain development, equipment, skills expertise and knowledge sharing across the sector. We shall hear from Andy Pike, Director of Riverside Resource Recovery Ltd, Cory Environmental, one of the UK’s leading resource management, recycling and energy recovery companies about how they work with businesses to provide cost effective waste management solutions.
As the largest commercial lighterage operator on the Thames, we shall see how they utilise the river as a transport highway using their own fleet  – five tugs , more than 50 barges and in excess of 1500 containers – rather than lorries to transport the capital’s residual waste, saving more than 100,000 vehicle movements a year from London’s streets.
This breakfast will also include a tour of the ‘Energy from Waste’ Riverside Resource Recovery facility, one of the largest and most efficient plants in the country which makes a significant contribution to the capital’s green energy needs, producing enough electricity each year to power around 100,000 homes.
