Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager / Estimator to support the continued growth of our operations. Ideally coming from a marine or steel background, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial brief through to final delivery—ensuring high standards, efficient coordination, and strong client communication at every stage.
Key Responsibilities

Engage with clients to clearly define project goals, scope, and deliverables.

Produce accurate and competitive tenders based on drawings or provided information.

Plan labour requirements and compile detailed material lists.

Coordinate internal teams and manage resources to achieve project objectives efficiently.

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and build client rapport.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using industry best practices.

Provide regular updates to clients on progress, timelines, and compliance.

Ensure all deliverables meet expected quality, safety, and operational standards.

Work collaboratively with the operations team to deliver projects efficiently and maximise profitability.

Contribute to a supportive, flexible working environment where team members assist each other across various tasks.
About You

A professional project manager with the ability to produce accurate estimates from supplied drawings or specifications.

Able to work independently, using initiative to manage tasks proactively.

Equally comfortable collaborating within a team environment.

Strong time-management skills—able to prioritise workloads effectively, especially when project lead times vary from months to days.

Confident attending site visits, sometimes requiring travel beyond the local area.
Minimum Requirements

Experience in the steel and/or marine industry.

Ability to interpret basic drawings and compile material lists.

Full UK driving licence.

Willingness to work occasional additional hours or weekends when required.

Ability to work independently and within a team, maintaining excellent organisation and time management.
Desirable Skills

Ability to interpret and create technical drawings using CAD or similar software.

Project management qualifications (e.g., APM, PRINCE2).

Previous experience in fabrication or engineering environments.
