Job Title: Commercial Manager
Reports to: CEO
Department: Dry Dock Senior Management
Salary: Starting £70,000+ per annum rising with performance based targets
Location: Cornwall
Job Purpose
The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the commercial performance of the Dry Dock business. This includes identifying, developing, and managing key customer relationships, ensuring profitable growth, and delivering value through strategic commercial initiatives. The Commercial Manager will have a proven track record in commercial leadership within the maritime or related sectors and will play a central role in shaping and delivering the company’s business objectives.

Knowledge

In-depth understanding of commercial and contractual management within a technical or maritime environment.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in commercial management, business development, or contract management within a relevant industry.

Proven experience in successfully negotiating and closing high-value deals.

Evidence of leading initiatives that have directly contributed to business growth and profitability.
Qualifications

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in a similar commercial leadership role.
Key Role Requirements

Act as the primary point of contact for all key customers and stakeholders.

Lead on pricing, costing, and contract management for marine projects.

Work independently to achieve commercial and operational objectives.

Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop and implement business strategies.

Build strong, long-term relationships with customer decision-makers and internal teams to ensure continued growth.
Budgetary Responsibility

No direct budgetary responsibility; however, annual commercial and revenue growth targets will be set and agreed with the CEO.
Outputs

Deliver agreed annual revenue and profitability targets.

Secure new business and manage existing accounts to achieve sustainable growth.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the company through insight and market intelligence.
Interactions
The Commercial Manager works closely with the CEO and senior management team to drive the business’s commercial success. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all customer relationships and commercial activities align with the company’s long-term objectives.
