Technical Sales Manager – Aids to Navigation
Location: Scotland & Ireland

Our clients are a leading and well-respected independent supplier of marine aids to navigation and data buoy platforms, and are looking for a field-based salesman to cover Scotland and Ireland.
As our representative in the field, you will work closely with our existing customers to develop new solutions that meet their specific needs. You will also be responsible for finding and building relationships with new customers, becoming their go-to person for all their marine aids to navigation needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong relationship-building background and a passion for sailing, whether it be professional or leisure. You should be friendly, professional, and able to connect with people from all walks of life. Our customers trust us to provide the best possible service, so being able to deliver on this promise is key.
You will be responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through to close and completion of order process in an assigned territory. You will develop and implement an agreed marketing plan which will be designed to meet both personal and business goals of our clients expanding customer base. You will work as part of the sales and administration teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and the long-term account goals of the company.
This role is a mix of telephone, virtual, and in-person appointments, so you will need to be comfortable working across all these platforms. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who has perhaps been at sea and still has itchy feet, or looking for a new challenge that combines their love of sailing with their sales expertise.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for the sales of marine Aids to Navigation and associated products. You will demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all the areas listed above. You will develop an annual business plan in conjunction with the Sales Director, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- You will have a full and complete understanding of the company price list and products.
- You will be able to carry on a business conversation with business owners, decision makers and technical staff.
- You will sell consultatively and make recommendations to customers of the various solutions the company.
- You will develop and keep up to date the company database and CRM system through referrals, telephone contact, face to face meetings, direct mailing, email, and networking.
- You will assist in the implementation of the company marketing plan as necessary.
- You will create and conduct effective proposal presentations and responses.
- You will be responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals.
- You will gather and submit detailed business information for pricing and presenting solutions to customer and prospect problems.
- You will maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within your assigned territory, including the use of the CRM system to maintain accurate records to maximise territory potential.
- You will attend exhibitions and conferences representing the company in a professional manner.
- You will adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented by all members of the team.
- You will participate and contribute to the development and implementation of educational and training programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees.
- You will maintain contact with all customers and prospects to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- You will demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
- You will build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.

Starting Salary £50K plus bonuses OTE
