SALARY: Basic £15 per hour plus benefits

The Shipyard Eatery – Sourdough Pizza on the Go Eatery, is looking for an experienced Chef to help us build this exciting new venture into a standout eatery .You will be responsible for producing the best sourdough pizza in our incredible wood fired oven.

Our eatery has just 12 pizzas and will also serve breakfast, brunch and lunch within a relaxed environment, serving speciality coffee and delicious food. The ideal candidate will be familiar with this type of environment and be able to warmly engage with our customers. You will be passionate, flexible and have an eye for detail. A leader that can inspire and lead by example.

The position involves all aspects of running the kitchen including stock control and ordering, ensuring health and hygiene standards are maintained, implementing company standards and procedures.

You will be working closely with the owners to build this exciting venture. This role offers a great growth opportunity for someone looking to grow quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in Neapolitan pizza is a positive, but not essential but someone who takes pride in their work serving food to the highest standards

Exceptional candidate

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for running the building’s day to day café facilities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the day-to-day work of our catering business. The job entails everything from interacting with customers, to preparing menus, to overseeing the presentation and serving of the food.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•Coordinate the operation and day to day running of the Café
•Ensure that customer’s expectations of food and service are consistently delivered in line with company standards
•Ensure all tasks are completed and delivered in accordance with company health, hygiene, quality, and safety standards
•Ensure that the kitchen and service areas are always clean and tidy
•Ensure all food and health and safety regulations are followed
•Setting up of service counters, serving food and clearing down of areas within the kitchen, café, and outside areas
•Food prep /Cooking
•Providing good quality food daily
•Cleaning of all crockery, cutlery, and service utensils within the Kitchen
•Ensure the highest possible standards of presentation by ensuring that displays, fixtures, fittings, and premises are maintained in accordance with the cleaning schedule
•Delivery of hospitality and events meeting rooms etc. if any
•Deal with customer queries or requests in a polite and efficient manner, be friendly, engaging and have high customer awareness
•Present a smart, professional appearance and good personal hygiene always
•Maintain standards of safety and hygiene per legislation and other statutory requirements
•Attend meetings and training sessions if required
•Reporting to Management
•Dealing with budgets
•Cashing up
•Undertake accurate and timely stock taking, reconciliation of money and invoices
•Management of food costs to keep within the food cost budget
•Come up with ideas to Market the café facilities
•Report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss or damage and act as appropriately
•Carry out any reasonable request from any member of the Management team within the general scope and purpose of the job
•Awareness of Food Allergies, Special Diets and Labelling
•Manage stock levels and ordering supplies
•Open and close the business
•Delegate tasks and supervise the Catering Assistant
