ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS – MARINE DRIVELINES

Company Overview

We are a specialist engineering group with bases in Southampton, North Kent and North Yorkshire. Our activities include the supply and service of marine and industrial driveline systems, marine seals & bearings and associated products. We operate principally in the UK but have customers based throughout the world.

    • Partners with VETH Propulsion for service business in the UK
    • Wide variety of other marine gears
  • Official UK distributor for Bellmarine propulsion
  • Partner with Danfoss for support with Variable speed Drive controllers VACON and VLT products along with other Danfoss Equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Working both in our workshop and in the field
  • Supporting vessel programmes for specialist Dry Docking work
  • Internal inspections of marine gears and shaft line bearings
  • Compiling condition reports for further works down the line and overhaul options. 
  • Shaft line alignment work, working with laser alignment equipment and pointer methods
  • Gearbox repairs and Full Overhaul all Marine gearbox makes considered
  • Shaft line and propeller work for both Fix Pitch Propeller and Controllable pitch propellers
  • Carrying out site surveys
  • Reporting through a CRM
  • Compiling a full condition report for the customer with Retrofit/Overhaul options

Primarily a workshop-based, with regular on-site customer visits, and the potential for overseas travel,

This varied role will see you working on the repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing a range of marine and off-highway transmissions, torque converters, axles and associated driveline products, covering a diverse range of equipment.

We are welcoming applicants that hold the below experience;

  • A recognised qualification or industry experience in mechanical/Electrical/Electronics engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems would be an advantage.
